“Visualizing Chakras” is a collaboration with set designer Anna Keville Joyce and a creative exploration of the 7 chakras - each represented with food, shapes, colors, crystal, elixirs, spirits, flowers and herbs. Shot by Evi Abeler, New York based Food Photographer.

Creative Direction: The difference between the carefully crafted food scenes we photograph and the food we, the team, really eat on set always strikes me as a bit ironic! Here we are laboring over the tiniest salt flake to create the perfect image; meanwhile, we are eating our own lunch with plastic forks perched on an apple box in the corner of the studio. I started to shoot some of these odd still lifes on set and recreated a few in the studio with the help of stylists Helen Quinn, Kaitlyn Du Ross Walker, and Julia Choi-Rodriguez.

Creative Direction: Inspired by a recent visit to the MoMA, prop stylist Ed Gallagher and I thought it would be fun to create still life homages to famous works of art. We started our exploration with Henri Rousseau’s The Dream. (Who would have known that just a few weeks later, we’d all be sitting on our couches in our own little jungles at home due to the pandemic!)
